
Anthony David Gonzalez was born on the 27th of February, 1976 in Torrance, California. He was raised in the southern part of California and attended Huntington Beach High School, where he was a star player on the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled at these activities at University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the football team into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he set a record for the school bowl with nine receptions. Gonzalez then led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months later. After that, he left the school for the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th pick overall. Gonzalez was a part of the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. He was later traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He was never able to catch less than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
