
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most memorable role was as private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) in which the actor was nominated 5 times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series. He won the award in 1985. From 2010 to 2010, Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. In nine television series based upon the Robert B. Parker novels in which he portrayed Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chief, beginning in 2005. Selleck also starred in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). Also, he's appeared in more than 50 other TV and film roles after Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a frequent TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the attractive, unassuming partner, on The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner.
